Hello, I'm Liam
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Some years back I moved here with my family. What started as a short-term assignment evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the plan we had mapped out. Like many relocations for expats, it started as a work chance and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built TrailOrchardGentle
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Switzerland.
